The World Series starts tonight! In your own life, what would be the equivalent of a walk-off home run? (For the baseball-averse, that’s a last-minute, back-against-the-wall play that guarantees a dramatic victory.)
Turning the tables in a bleak or seemingly insolvable situation, basically my Grand Slam moment when I have my Sherlock Holmes/Columbo moment and the pieces of a puzzle fall together. Of course I am not a detective and am unlikely to be called upon to solve any crime scenes which are not of fictitious origin, but my Gran Slam moment can come when figuring out the plot of a crime book/film/show before the characters (I loved the early few series of Jonathan Creek as the mystery and motives were fairly tricky to solve but later days they were either predictable or just made no sense). Other situations such as figuring out the technical problems I sometimes encounter in day to day life, puzzles… basically my Grand Slam moment is provided when my brain comes up trumps, I’m very much a man of the “pen is mightier then the sword” mentality.
