The Writer’s Worst Enemy

The Blank Page

I’m sure everyone has at some point encountered an oppressive blank page, whether it be the Computer Screen when writing a blog entry, the lined note paper when plotting ideas out or the ominous answer box in the end of term exam paper.

On the whole, the blank page rarely stays blank very long for me, I always manage to jot something down (or draw a doodle) fairly quickly. Personally I think the biggest enemy is returning to writing after a long flow and taking a break, sometimes I find it hard to get the rhythm going again though I have learnt a few tricks to help me regain momentum.
