“You see that girl?”

“The one in purple on the Carousel?” Queried Arthur in a tone suggesting how he regarded the question. “No, I have been watching the Carousel for six minutes and have failed to notice her.”

“Alright Mr Grumpy,” answered the young man. “I was merely going to ask how you know her.”

“She’s my friend,” answered Arthur.

“She looks a bit young-”

“Well she used to date my niece,” Arthur cut in with a smile. “I also believe has derailed your plan.”

“I guess so,”  said the young man. “See you around.” The young man doffed an imaginary hat and strolled off. Arthur smiled and lent in his umbrella and watched Liz on the ride for a bit longer. It had been a good day out so far, despite the bathroom incident. The ride came to it’s natural end and Liz joined Arthur.

“Who was that?” She asked.

“Oh just another one of your admirers,” Arthur said cheerfully.

“I get them a lot these days,” she smiled. “It flatters me.”

“I like it when your friend’s friends ask ‘Hey Lizzie, who’s your dad?” Arthur quipped.  Liz smiled and whipped the map out.

“So where next?” Asked Liz, “I fancy looking at the bathhouse.”

“Er yeah okay,” blustered Arthur.

“Relax Arthur, these things happen.” laughed Liz. “Besides I’ve been a nurse for a long time.”

“Ok, bathhouses it is.” Smiled Arthur and they strolled towards the bathhouse.

From a distance the young man watched them retreat up the hill. He pulled out his phone and quickly dialled a number.

“Wiseman here,” he said. “There are on their way,  get Bartholomew to arrange a show.”

“Ok, I think an urchin display will appeal.” Answered the voice on the line and hung.

In a small office, the boss buzzed the intercom. “Bartholomew, get the Oliver Twist team together.”

“Is it time?” Asked a second voice in the office.

“Yes, it is time for your deployment.” Said the boss looking up.

“It’s uncanny,” said the candidate looking at a photo of Liz. “I look exactly like her.”
