Well I will start of with Happy Christmas to my fellow Livejournal users, I hope you have a good one.
I have been very good this year managed to get all my Christmas Shopping done mid-December, which even amazed me! We are going out for Christmas Day dinner for the second year running, this time to the Ramada Hotel up in Telford as opposed to a pub, I may try and sneak in a quick Christmas pint at the Kynn before hand though.
I am a little sad for Sian having to spend Christmas in a Carehome, but given the situation at home for her it may just be a better place for her. Hopefully she’ll get a visit from her friends and family.
Well it finally has happened, a young lady has been daft enough to start dating me, I guess it had to happen eventually. She’s from t’other side of Shrewsbury and is quite a quirky young lady. Our first date was in Shrewsbury and we went to the Boathouse and the Armoury for drinks. Unfortunately she doesn’t drive so she is a little bit reliant on public buses, which is a bit of a bummer but never mind. Second date we went to the Three Fishes in Shrewsbury for lunch, the pub is really and old man’s boozer with a menu and it shows a bit in the food. I had Breaded Scampi (which I haven’t had since the 20th century) and Rachael had a Duck in Hoisin Sauce Wrap… The duck was over cooked and the sauce was separate so she wasn’t impressed. Sadly our date was on the short side as she had commitments elsewhere.
Elsewhere I have been trying to keep a low profile, watched a few movies at home including “Oz, the Great and Powerful” which is a prequel to the Wizard of Oz (as you may have guessed) and sets up how the Great Oz managed to establish himself considering he is merely a stage magician and confidence trickster. It also gives background to the two Wicked Witches, Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tinman though the latter two don’t appear. It’s fairly entertaining fluff with a guest appearance by Zach Braff as a talking monkey and a wasted cameo by Bruce Campbell. I also watched Batman & Robin starring George Clooney and his Bat-Nipples. What has been seen cannot be unseen….
A Merry Christmas to all of you at home
