A class you wish you would have taken?

I wish I had taken up a Computer Programming course at the very least, but considering the limitations of the Computer room at my secondary school I have a feeling my programming knowledge would be pure 1980s computer science. A bit of a concern considering that I went to secondary school in the mid to late 1990s… perhaps I would be able to cash in on the RetroGaming  community. In fairness I have often thought of indulging myself with the free to Download Dizzy Age software which would enable me to create my own 8 bit style Dizzy games.

I still regret not taking up the offer of learning Russian while at college, my desire to do this was partially down to me my then (and still lingering) interesting with the Cold War both in fact and fiction, but also it may well have stood me in good stead as more and more Russian business men and Students and going about the world. A few years ago we had some Russians stay at the Plume of Feathers and it would have been a great advantage for me to be able to speak some Russian, even if only basic schoolboy details.

Are you scared of heights?

Not so much anymore, but I use to have an issue when I was younger. My main issue tended to be if you could see all the way down from a narrow space. As a child I was unable to get to past the third “landing” at Withernsea  Lighthouse as you could see all the way down until you got to the lamp room.

I never had any problems with steep hills or going up mountain paths though (or long bridges), odd isn’t it.

Are you a good cook? If so, do you consider yourself a chef?

I am a reasonable home cook. I wouldn’t say I am a Chef as a Chef is a professional role and am certainly not a professional at cooking.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Spending some time with Heather over a few days has to be a highlight and having a nice couple of walks around the Town Park with her.

I enjoyed seeing Ant-Man and the Wasp, which is the latest film in the Marvel Comics Universe series. This one was much more light-hearted and a family friendly romp then a lot of the recent films in the Avengers series, which made it a nice change of pace.
