FOWC: The Old Music Master (fiction) NSFW-ish

Late one night the old music master sat at his old piano slowly beating down the keys in hope to find the notes for the melody which was hiding just out of his mind. His eyes were heavy with fatigue but he was determined to finish it. His wife, much younger than him, entered his study hoping to tear him away from the keys and manuscript paper.

“Are you coming to bed?” She asked huskily.

“Not until the basics are done,” he replied wearily.

That wasn’t good news, she knew if it took all night he would stay up all night. She shook her head and left him to it.

The clock chimed 6am and day light was pouring through the study but still the music master had got no further. Scrunched up bits of paper populated the floor and the ash tray was chock a block with spent butts. The thought of his wife curled up in bed and the empty spot he should be occupying finally persuaded him to pack it up. He crawled into bed, wrapped his arms around his wife’s sleeping body and soon drifted off.

The day was similarly unproductive and he was about to give up and so took a break. His wife was in her studio modelling for the agency again. He seldom intruded on her job, it always seemed odd to him looking in on it all.

She was posing for a tease publication and as he watched her get into position the cogs in his mind began to stir. He had his melody and his theme…..

“Please explain why you chose that photo of your wife for the cover?” Asked the interviewer.

“It was what inspired me,” the music master answered. “I had the idea of what music and performance means from the outside looking in. I figured isn’t all art a style of voyeurism?”

“And the coffee cup?”

“Sponsorship, simple as.”
