Morning Mail

Liz showed the piece of paper to Dr Webster, “do you suppose it is genuine?”

He studied the note, “well the penmanship suggested it was written in a hurry or under duress.” He handed it back to her and scratched his chin thoughtfully.

“It was slipped in with my morning correspondence,” said Liz. “Perhaps it is a joke but it seems like it was intended to be read.”

“And read by you I guess. Unless you’re just the postman.”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean that perhaps it was sent to you because you are able to get it to someone and they couldn’t.”

“Like who? You?”

“I doubt it as we work together and it could easily be put in my mail.”

“That’s true,” agreed Liz. A thought dawned to her. “Oh no… You don’t suppose it was intended for… Him.”

Dr Webster looked up, “yes… I guess so. But equally why not send it to me?”

Liz read the note again.
