A Tune a Day #17 (in association with FOWC)

One the first albums I purchased by Miles Davis was “Bitches Brew”, an album which still courts opinion and divides the audience even to this day. I say one of because I bought it as part of a 5 for £30 deal at the local Virgin Megastore alongside “Kind of Blue” and “Sketches of Spain”, plus “Time Out” by Dave Brubeck and “Louis Armstrong Plays WC Handy.”

Bitches Brew is sometimes called a pioneering record in avant-garde electric Jazz and often a noisey racket. For me it is a joyous Cacophony of experimentation. It doesn’t all work, but that is the nature of an experiment.

Here is the third track on the second disc: Miles Runs the Voodoo Down

Fandango’s One Word Challenge: Cacophony
