Fandango’s One Word Challenge: Esoteric
Esoteric, that could be how my co-workers might describe some of my references and jokes, or would do but I doubt many of them know the meaning of the word.
Now, I wouldn’t have thought that many of my jokes were that obscure, but when a colleague was laid up for a week with a damaged ankle I joked about her not spying on her neighbours and accidentally exposing a murderer. One other member of staff got the reference, one! So bearing that in mind I tend to try and make things a bit more obvious.
