30 Day Film Challenge #Day 24

Welcome back to my 30 Film Challenge and today’s prompt is a film by your favourite director.

Well this is quite an interesting prompt, my favourite director is Alfred Hitchcock but I am going to select one of his lesser known movies.

This is one of his silent movies and was released in 1928 and features the rise of a boxer, Jack Sander, from his origins as a fair ground fighter and his attempt to woo a girl, he has a love and boxing rival in the form of Bob.

It’s a fairly old fashioned melodrama but it features some interesting visuals that would later define Hitchcock’s career, it is also a rare example of a screenplay and story by Hitchcock himself.
