Welcome back to my 30 Film Challenge courtesy of Cineworld cinemas, this is the final day and the prompt is a film with a beautiful ending.
This my come as a dramatic shock for you, but my final choice is going to be a film about an aspiring Jazz musician. The film in question is the academy award nominated drama Whiplash, starring Miles Teller and J. K. Simmons. The film follows a young drummer who is recruited by the colleges respected band leader to be part of the showcase band. The teacher however is a very angry and abusive man whose excuse is that he is trying to get the best out of the students. After a series of mental gymnastics the tutor is fired and as revenge attempts to sabotage the students career at a talent scouting concert. He however has is thwarted when the student takes charge of the band and does an epic performance of Caravan.
I particularly liked this because most films about Jazz musicians tend to end on a downbeat note, which while probably more true to life, do give a bit of a buzz kill.

I never saw the film you write about but saw commercials of it and it was enough to turn me off because of the violence it depicts. I acknowledge the fantastic acting abilities of J.K. Simmons and Miles. What is a loose challenge?
