30 Day Doctor Who Challenge Day #1

Welcome to my second September film challenge, this is a more Fandom based challenge but those who know the show are welcome to join in.

Day One: Your Favourite Who Quote

Oh there are many but since many are often short lines it would be a rather lame opening to go for one of those, so I am going to go with *that* speech in episode one of The Ark in Space.

Context: The Doctor, Sarah and Harry arrive on a deserted space station, through various events Sarah is separated from the Doctor and Harry and in looking for her they also explore the station. In this process they discover that the station is essentially a life boat with hundreds of people in suspended animation.

The Speech if you don’t want to follow the video
“Homo sapiens. What an inventive, invincible species. It’s only a few million years since they crawled up out of the mud and learned to walk. Puny, defenceless bipeds. They’ve survived flood, famine and plague. They’ve survived cosmic wars and holocausts. And now, here they are, out among the stars, waiting to begin a new life. Ready to outsit eternity. They’re indomitable.”

Story Details:

The Ark in Space, written by Robert Holmes, directed by Rodney Bennett.

Starring Tom Baker, Elisabeth Sladen, Ian Marter, Wendy Williams, Kenneth Moore, Peter Tuddenham.
